How to calculate ROIC

You can find the above on the income statement​,if you can find this,then you can search for EBIT & subtract interest expense.

Then calculate tax rate

Then calculate NOPAT

Operating profit/operating income.

Now to calcualte the invested capital,you have to have a look on the balance sheet.

Look for interest bearing debt.look at the liablility section.just make sure none of the liabilites are interest bearing ,you will have to look at the financial statement for that.

We have to add interes bearing debt to totol shareholder equity.

Then you will get invested capital.

Now you can finally work out what the ROIC is

You should compare the ROIC for the company with its competitors in its industry.
